Privacy policy
The short version: we collect only what the product needs — a random visitor identifier, lightweight usage analytics, and the content you choose to send. We never sell your data, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and photos you upload are not stored on our servers.
1. What we collect
- Analytics: a randomly generated visitor identifier (not your name or email), pages visited, time on site, and product events such as questions asked, debates completed, and ratings given. Retained for roughly 90 days.
- Your questions and the council's answers: processed to generate the experience; recent questions are retained briefly in our analytics for product improvement.
- Photos you upload for the style critique: sent to our AI provider to generate the commentary, then discarded — not stored on our servers.
- Voice input: speech recognition for voice questions runs in your browser or device; we receive only the resulting text.
- Account data (only if you sign in): authentication is handled by Clerk; we store your saved debate sessions against your account id so you can revisit them, and your email address to send a welcome message. You can delete saved sessions from your archive at any time.
- Shared debates: creating a share link stores that debate and its preview image on our servers so the link works for others; they expire automatically after about six months.
2. What we don't do
- No sale or sharing of personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
- No third-party advertising trackers, no cross-site or cross-app tracking, no fingerprinting.
- No training of our own AI models on your content.
- Analytics identifiers are not linked to your identity.
3. Service providers
To run GodCouncil, content you submit is processed by our infrastructure and AI providers acting on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Anthropic (debate text generation), ElevenLabs (voice synthesis), Clerk (optional sign-in), and AgentMail / ImprovMX (transactional email). Each receives only what is needed for its function.
4. The iOS app
The GodCouncil app for iPhone and iPad follows this same policy. It requests the microphone only when you ask a question by voice and the camera or photo library only when you choose to upload a photo for critique. The app contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
5. Children
GodCouncil is not directed at children under 13, and our App Store age rating is 12+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Your choices and rights
- Use GodCouncil without an account — no sign-in is required.
- Delete saved sessions from your archive at any time; deleting your Clerk account removes your stored sessions.
- Local preferences (your council configuration, language, chamber) live in your own browser or device storage and can be cleared by you.
- To request access to or deletion of any data we hold, email us — we'll respond within 30 days.
