Privacy policy

1. What we collect

• Analytics: a randomly generated visitor identifier (not your name or email), pages visited, time on site, and product events such as questions asked, debates completed, and ratings given. Retained for roughly 90 days.
• Your questions and the council's answers: processed to generate the experience; recent questions are retained briefly in our analytics for product improvement.
• Photos you upload for the style critique: sent to our AI provider to generate the commentary, then discarded — not stored on our servers.
• Voice input: speech recognition for voice questions runs in your browser or device; we receive only the resulting text.
• Account data (only if you sign in): authentication is handled by Clerk; we store your saved debate sessions against your account id so you can revisit them, and your email address to send a welcome message. You can delete saved sessions from your archive at any time.
• Advertising measurement (website only): godcouncil.com uses the Meta Pixel, which lets Meta record which of our pages you visit, together with information from your browser such as your IP address, browser details and Meta cookies, so we can measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy and may associate it with your Meta account. The pixel never receives your questions, debates or photos: it does not run on pages whose address carries a question or a debate, and its automatic click tracking is disabled. It never loads inside our iOS or Android apps. You can block it with your browser's tracker protection, or manage ad settings in your Meta account.
• Payments (only if you subscribe): checkout and billing are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. We never see your card details; we receive only your subscription status, linked to your account id.
• Push notifications (apps only, only if you allow them): we store your device's push token and language to send one daily question. Turn them off any time in your device settings.
• Shared debates: creating a share link stores that debate and its preview image on our servers so the link works for others; they expire automatically after about six months.

2. What we don't do

• No sale or sharing of personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
• No advertising or tracking SDKs in our iOS or Android apps, and no cross-app tracking.
• No third-party trackers on our website other than the Meta Pixel described above, and no fingerprinting.
• No training of our own AI models on your content.
• Analytics identifiers are not linked to your identity.

3. Service providers

To run GodCouncil, content you submit is processed by our infrastructure and AI providers acting on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Anthropic (debate text generation), ElevenLabs (voice synthesis), Clerk (optional sign-in), Lemon Squeezy (payments), Expo (push notification delivery), and AgentMail / ImprovMX (transactional email). Separately, Meta receives website page-visit data through the Meta Pixel as described above. Each receives only what is needed for its function.

4. The iOS and Android apps

The GodCouncil apps for iPhone, iPad and Android follow this same policy. It requests the microphone only when you ask a question by voice and the camera or photo library only when you choose to upload a photo for critique. The apps contain no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and the Meta Pixel is disabled inside them. If you allow notifications, the apps send one daily question.

5. Children

GodCouncil is not directed at children under 13, and our App Store age rating is 12+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your choices and rights

• Use GodCouncil without an account — no sign-in is required.
• Delete saved sessions from your archive at any time; deleting your Clerk account removes your stored sessions.
• Local preferences (your council configuration, language, chamber) live in your own browser or device storage and can be cleared by you.
• To request access to or deletion of any data we hold, email us — we'll respond within 30 days.
